A Libertines-obsessive in his teenage years, Sachin was aware of the Boogaloo and its part in the north London music scene from its association with the good-ship Albion. Moving to London from Leicester for Uni in 2013, he made regular pilgrimages to the pub to procrastinate from studying. Often found perfecting the Guinness game, Sachin’s best Boog memory is actually a recent one: “returning to the pub for the first time post-lockdown reaffirmed all that is beautiful and special about the place. I don’t think there’s a pub that is more fun in the country. We certainly made up for a long time away …”.

Sachin has always been obsessed with new music, collecting NME magazines and CDs through his youth; making regular trips from the Leicestershire countryside to shows in Leicester or Nottingham. Moving to London allowed him to spend all his money on gigs – a habit that has only grown exponentially over the years.

These days you can find him trying to contain his mullet with a hairbrush, painting his nails badly and day-dreaming of a sweaty night at one of London’s fabled small venues. The Boogaloo is a shining light of musical joy in life right now.
