Mickey Beans joined Boogaloo Radio at the start of 2018 after being a guest on a show dedicated to the memory of one of her favourites: Mark E Smith. She was then offered her own show as she clearly demonstrated a skill of being a chatterbox but can draw on her experience as being a well toured musician (La Roux) as well as a lover of music and people.

Beans on Boogaloo is a weekly show which composes of music and talk interviews with guests from all walks of life, from all around the world. Her previous guests have included politicians, bands, actors, comedians, school children, poets, scientists, photographers and break through artists.

If you like a bit of jesting, strong opinions and sometimes a challenge; then this is a show for you. Her candid conversations can be very moving and revealing, but you will have lots of laughs and undoubtedly will discover brand new music or hear music that you haven’t heard before.

What other radio show can feature six-teenagers and two teachers who Mickey persuaded their school to pay for an education trip, 400 miles away from a small town in Scotland to Boogaloo Radio? They came on because she came across them online campaigning to stop knife crime.

Yet on another week, she had the co- leader of the Green Party of England and Wales on as a guest – just a few days before European elections.

The common theme here is Mickey likes to use her platform to connect people by playing music that her guests make / love whilst informing the listeners of what you want to shout out to the world.

Basically; if you have a heartbeat, good taste of music and a sense of humour; then Mickey will welcome you on her no-holds-barred show – no restrictions.
